ASH Smyth FRGS is a writer and journalist with a BA in Egyptology, aMasters in Intelligence & International Security and a 50% share in abook on WS Gilbert's 'Little List'. Between writing on morris dancingfor The Spectator and Zambian aid economics for Prospect he has found(time to) work as an English teacher, a builder of refrigerated fruit -barns, a Gentleman-extra-Ordinary at Hampton Court Chapel Royal, asoldier (Tuesday evenings), and a composer of tribute poems to WendyCope. Between November 2007 and February 2008 he co-edited The Lizard Magazine, with Dominic Hilton. A better idea, The Amnesiac Review, willbe appearing shortly.
