Antonia Michaelis was born in Kiel, Germany, and spent her early years in a village by the Baltic Sea with her pleasantly eccentric parents and a variety of cats. A year teaching in southern India after school gave her a case of wanderlust, sending here to Peru, Ghana, Syria, and the British Isles. Antonia has studied medicine and currently lives in a small village of northern Germany, enjoying the perks and pitfalls of small-town life. She is the author of Tiger Moon and other children's books, and her work has been translated into a dozen languages.
