Hasini is trained as a sociologist and currently works on using art and media in social activism. She has been writing since sixteen and continues to publish in her blog. She wishes to bring people together through creative arts and in August 2008, she facilitated a writers’ workshop to this end for a group of Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim writers. At the moment she is acting, researching women’s activism, compiling a syllabus on Critical Appreciation in Film and Theatre, planning for an International Cultural Festival in Sigiriya and writing poetry.
