Artemis Cooper is a British author. Her books include Writing at the Kitchen Table: the Authorized Biography of Elizabeth David, the woman who revolutionised cooking in Britain, and Cairo in the War, a portrait of the city between 1939 and 1945. Paris After the Liberation: 1944-1949, written with her husband Antony Beevor, presented another city undergoing profound social and intellectual changes. She has edited two editions of letters: A Durable Fire (Duff and Diana Cooper) and Mr Wu and Mrs Stitch (Diana Cooper and Evelyn Waugh). She is currently working on the biography of the travel writer and war hero Patrick Leigh Fermor.
